RockfordFishing.com Walleye Trail
Results for April 19th
First, we would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and congratulate all anglers whom participated in todays event.
We began the day with a 15 boat field. All 15 boats had more on their mind this go round. Besides a rainy and cold day of fishing, 8 boats out of our 15 boats had recorded fish at the weigh-in on March 22nd to receive points towards Angler of the Year award. We had 6 boats with a little more pressure to catch fish to stay in the running for the AYA (Angler of the Year award). 2 of those boats did so.
For the first 2 hours of the tournament the conditions were favorable for fishing. With an overcast sky and a front coming in we thought it might be a great day for the walleye. Around 10:00am the rain began and did not let up for the remainder of the tournament. All anglers reported tough fishing throughout the day, with 1 fish here and 1 fish there we were not sure what might come out of the day. When the day was all said and done, they still caught fish regardless of the conditions.
We had a total of 12 fish and 22Lbs, not to shabby for soppy wet sonditions. Coming in 1st place we had the team of Andy Bufalo and Justin Clutter with 4 fish weighing in at 7.58 Lbs earning them a check for $450 and 200 points for a total of 399 points putting them in the 1st place running for AYA. In 2nd place we had the team of Robert and Cameron Leonard with 1 fish weighing in at 4.44 Lbs, earning them a check for $225 also a check for $140 for BIG FISH and 199 points for a total of 224 points towards AYA. In 3rd place we had the team of Derek Boger and Ron Demus weighing in 2 fish for 3.40 Lbs earning them a check for $105 and 198 points for a total of 398 points towards AYA.

The team of Dave and Nick Tassoni weighed in 1 fish for 2.80 Lbs earning them 196 points for a total of 394 points towards AYA. Them team of Sam Hatcher and John Alexander weighed in 1 fish for .84 Lbs earning them 195 points for a total of 391 points towards AYA. Them team of Jim Humphry and Budd Andrews weighed in 1 fish for .79 Lbs earning them 194 points for a total of 388 points towards AYA. All teams not weighing in fish will receive 25 show points.
