Madison Chain Spring Crappie and Cats
Now is the time with the increasing water temp to target a crappie and cat fish combo. With the right sized bait and lure both can be achieved at the same time. For the presentations I use smaller 1/16 to 1/8 Oz Mini Mites/Berkley Fish Fries or cut-bait below slip- bobber either anchoring or drifting slowly. Areas to target are places that have slower water meeting faster current and allowing the bobbers to flow down the current or bays and creeks that are in a direct exposer to the sun. If the area has any structure, I’ll always throughly cast around it as these fish love to hang out under piers and downed timber. Do not over look fish high in the water column as this is normal the water that warms first.

Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin have many lakes, rivers and streams which are home to a great number of fish. Walleye, Bass - Largemouth and Smallmouth, Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie and Muskie are just a few of the game fish you will find in these areas.
